Future Open Animals
Open Animals makes tribute plush Animals for Open Source projects that we are excited about. Here is a list of future tribute Open Animals that are in the works for the future. Please let us know what you think, share ideas you think will make our animals better and which animals you would like to see first!
Open Gull
Tribute to Open Office.
Open Office has a mascot named "Otto de Gull", we previously thought an owl would be good too OO looks like two owl eyes. Thanks to jza for pointing out our mistake.
Open Fox
Tribute to Firefox.
This one is a no brainer. It is just that because Firefox already so popular we might wait a little bit to hopefully get the word out on some lesser known projects.
Open Chicks
Tribute to the website Linux Chix.
This is a really cool site that is dedicated to supporting women in computing and also women who like Open Source. We figure we will dedicate a smaller penguin to them or cute little yellow chicks.
Open Kernel
Tribute to Linux Kernal.
It will possibly look like a popcorn kernel with a twist. If you turn it inside out, it will look like it has popped! We know it isn't an animal, but oh well!
Open Puffer Fish
Tribute to OpenBSD.
A cute big eyed yellow puffer fish with soft thorns. If we could some how make him small and then puff up we will try.
Open Turtle
Tribute to Tortoise SVN
This will most likely be a brown and green turtle. We have some ideas about a removable shell. We will see though.
Open Shell
Tribute to Bash
The idea here is a few different warm and fuzzy shell shapes with different cute little fuzzy crabs and slugs to fit inside them.
Open Wildebeest
Tribute to the GNU Operating System.
A cute dark brown stuffed animal that you can possibly get an entire heard to put around your Gnu running Linux box so you co workers and friends know how cool you are.
